Conference Internet of Things, Big Data and Security (IoTBDS 2017), Porto (Portugal)

SecUnity project members Silvia Balaban and Manuela Wagner gave a speech about „Minimizing the Risks of Data Protection Infringement: Data Lifecycle Risk Assessment“ at the 2nd International Conference on Internet of Things, Big Data and Security (IoTBDS 2017) on April 24 2017 in Porto (Portugal). The talk focused on benefits and hindrances of anonymization and the necessary risk assessment. As a central question regarding the applicability of data protection law the rising risks of (re-)identifying natural persons due to the improving technical possibilities of information aggregation and linking have to be taken into consideration especially in big data scenarios. Therefore they presented a practicable approach. With their legal speech they contributed to the interdisciplinary exchange between differing disciplines. Moreover Manuela Wagner took part in Session Security, Privacy and Trust as Session Chair on April 26 2017. Their short paper concerning „Minimizing the Risks of Data Protection Infringement: Data Lifecycle Risk Assessment“ was published in http://www.scitepress.org/DigitalLibrary.
